On January 1st 2015, my best friend gave me a journal with the title on the outside “Trust your crazy ideas”. I was so happy that she gave me a journal to fill up with all the thoughts in my head that I really didn’t pay too much attention to the quote on the front. I read it a couple of times and thought ok, I do trust my crazy ideas, so sweet. The more I think about this very quote I realized that I have not, 100%, trusted my crazy ideas. My crazy ideas always are accompanied with a list of questions and doubts, making sure that it makes sense and sometimes talking myself out of the very idea that cause me to wake up in the middle of the night.
So today, I posted this picture of an open door, because today I declare that I am letting go and fully trusting my crazy ideas. The door of opportunity and crazy ideas is open before me. Trusting my crazy ideas and so should you. 2015 is the year of dreams fulfilled! The door is open, no need to knock or ring the doorbell. Walk into dreamers village. I hope this inspires someone today.

What is the RAW Organization about? I’m glad you asked……”RAW: natural born artists is an independent arts organization, for artists, by artists. We welcome all genres of art including independent film, fashion, music, visual art, performing art, hairstylists, makeup artists and more. We encourage the creative success of the many visionaries and storytellers of our generation.”
On August 29, 2013 I was showcased along with 40 other artist. What to expect at a RAW showcase? “RAW events come together to form an amazing one-night circus of creativity. You’ll experience an independent film (usually a short, webisode or music video), a fashion show from an up-and-coming local designer, a musical performance, an art gallery featuring several independent visual artists and photographers, and performance art (comedy/dance/fire dancers, you name it…). You’ll get a little taste of everything”. A full buffet of RAW talent!
As a RAW Artist, I felt amazing being in a room with my RAW family. We are all inspired by each other and we all eat, sleep and breathe our art. There is so much passion in the air that when we walk past each other all we can do is smile. It’s a smile that doesn’t only mean a friendly gesture but a true and authentic respect for your craft ( almost like a salute). As a Make-up Artist, I had the opportunity to display my art by doing the make-up for one of the featured Fashion Designers and I also had two promotional models, all GLAMMED UP! A huge thanks to Lisa As-sing of LAVA for doing the hair for my models, always HOT! Also a special thanks to my promotional models, Ashley Cullen and Kelly Leveille, you guys are beautiful and make the perfect canvas. Below are some of my snap shots from my RAW showcase, please enjoy and become a RAW ARTIST! http://www.rawartists.org , www.shawnaelizabeth.com

Many years ago when I fell in love with make-up, the only thing that mattered was color cosmetics. I was drawn to the amazing colors in eye shadows and especially lipsticks. I went to the MAC counter and it was special event to pick out eyeshadows, lipsticks, and eye liners to add to my collection. As I became more comfortable applying make-up, my collection quickly grew to the foundation, concealer and all categories in the make-up arena. I was the make-up queen (not a drag queen, lol) with so much make-up that I created a custom look everyday. I quickly developed the bad habit of not taking off my make-up and cleansing my skin. When I did decide to wash my face, I used bathing soap. As a result, my skin was constantly, irritated, broken out and I suffered from hyperpigmentation. My skin started to look so bad without make-up, that foundation and concealer was must, even on the beach.
After awhile, I decided to take care of my skin. Because I knew I could never give up wearing make-up, I purchased and began a skin care system. I also had to invest in a good eye make-up remover. So, all the ladies that love make-up, please take care of your skin. Invest in a good skin care line, it’s actually more important than the make-up. It’s not all about COLOR!
Things you should know before getting skincare products- What type of skin do you have Normal, Oily, Dry, Combination? Do you suffer from Acne? What results do you want from your skincare?
Most skincare routines include a: Cleanser, Toner, Moisturizer and some may add Serums, Exfoliators and a Mask
Tip#1-Make-up will look and feel better on great skin
Tip#2-Do your research on what skincare line best suits your skin and your budget
